It is no secret just how it is here in the UK we are in the midst of a record-breaking heatwave with temperatures expected to reach a soaring 37C according to forecasters. Here we have put together a quick survival guide on how you can keep yourself cool during this unusually hot period:
1: Load up on H2O in advance
Drink, drink, drink. One of the cheapest and easiest ways to stay cool (ish) is to keep hydrated. Grab yourself a cold water with some ice & this instantly doubles up as a hand cooler! Keep your staff hydrated and get a water dispenser
2: Ice packs
Dig out that picnic basket from the garage and fetch out those ice packs
, get them in the freezer, grab yourself a belt and strap the pack to your forehead! Trust us, you will be the one laughing when your nice and cool, literally speaking of course.
3: Engineer a cool breeze
Task your staff by rigging up a system that uses a series of inexpensive fans
to create a cross breeze from the open windows. Get those fans away from the back of your devices otherwise your just blowing a load of hot air in your faces!
4: Homemade Aircon
If you are in the unfortunate position of not having air-con in your office? We have the solution! Using some ice or ice packs (In a bowl of course) plonk that directly in front of your fan and voila! Instant ice cold air blowing across your sweaty brow! Or just buy the snazzy Dyson Cooling Tower Fan
to save the hassle!
5: A water fight!
When all else fails, arm yourself with the weapon
of choice - pick teams and get your work staff outside and wage war! This idea is our favourite due to the fact it's free, fun, competitive and it's a great way to team build.
